OpenCharities
Project to increase transparency, accountability and open up the Uk Charities register. Launch in autumn 2010 by group headed by Chris Taggart. OpenlyLocal.
Aims to get basic information such as basic information (name, charity number, contact details, aims and most recent accounts info) Rankings of largest charities (currently covering England and Wales only) by income, spending. Also RSS feeds of newest charities registered.

Statewatch is an independent, non profit-making organisation founded in 1991. It is now offering free access to its 2 main databases
The main Statewatch database with 27,000 articles on civil liberties in Europe dating back 20 years. This includes coverage of surveillance, internet freedoms,

The SEMDOC website: Statewatch European Monitoring and Documentation Centre on EU Justice and Home Affairs policy. This has strong coverage of borders and immigration issues in the EU.

ALISS

ALISS is a not-for-profit unincorporated professional society. It is an independent group which was formed in April 2005 by the former committee of (Aslib Social Science Information Group and Network) The aim of the group is to; Provide opportunities for networking and self-development offer a forum for communication create a network of cooperation and a forum for discussion about emerging issues in social science librarianship.
