Event: The Future of Open Science: The Need to Change Culture to Change Science

April 19, 2021 2147

Join the American Psychological Association for a free webinar on April 26, 2021. Improvements in the openness, rigor, and reproducibility of psychological science requires substantial changes in the culture of how we conduct and report science, yet current dysfunctional incentives prioritize publication over accuracy and privacy over transparency.  Successful culture change will require coordinated policy, incentive, and normative changes to improve research credibility and accelerate progress.

This webinar and discussion will allow scientists to share tips, concerns, strategies, and barriers to the future of open psychological science.  You are encouraged to take this opportunity to engage on these issues with Dr. Brian Nosek, Co-founder and Executive Director of the Center for Open Science, by asking questions, sharing challenges faced in your own research, and providing insights into how we can act collectively to change the system.

Panelist: Brian Nosek, PhD, Center for Open Science

Moderator: Peggy Christidis, PhD, Science Directorate, American Psychological Association
