Campaign for Social Science to hold latest roadshows
The Campaign for Social Science will hold its latest roadshows at London Metropolitan University on 20 February and at the University of Exeter on 1 March.
The LMU event takes place in the Henry Thomas Room of the Tower Building from 12.30pm to 2pm. There will be light refreshments (free of charge) followed by a short presentation about the Campaign and a question and answer session.
Please visit http://cfsslmu.eventbrite.com/ to book a place. The roadshow is open to all social scientists.
The Exeter roadshow takes place from 12.30pm-2pm (includes lunch) in Lecture Room 2 in the Queen’s Building.
The speakers at both events include Professor Michael Harloe AcSS, Acting Chair and former Vice Chancellor at the University of Salford, and Ceridwen Roberts AcSS, Campaign Board member.
The Campaign has held 16 roadshows since it was launched in 2011. These are staged to emphasise the value and importance of social science and to encourage support and donations.
The Campaign gives social science a voice by working collaboratively across the whole of the social science community, both within academia and outside, including the Academy’s 44 learned societies (with 87,000 members).
The Campaign has four main objectives: informing and influencing public policy with social science evidence; keeping the media informed with comment on social science issues; speaking with authority on the state of social science; promoting the benefits of investment in social science education and research.
