Brett Anitra Gilbert (PhD, Indiana University – Bloomington) (pictured) is the inaugural Arlene R. and Robert P. Kogod Regional Innovation Chair, and Associate Professor of Management at American University, Kogod School of Business. Her research focuses on regional innovation, entrepreneurial ecosystems in emerging economies, and emerging clean technologies. Her articles have appeared in journals such as Africa Journal of Management, Journal of Business Venturing, Journal of Developmental Entrepreneurship, Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of Management, Research Policy, Small Business Economics, Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal and Strategic Management Journal. Meredith Burnett (PhD, University of Maryland, College Park) is a professorial lecturer in the Kogod School of Business at American University. Her research and teaching interests are in the areas of organizational behavior and human resource management. Her research examines how individual differences and human resource policies interact to influence employee behavior. She is particularly interested in examining how these factors influence outcomes such as employee retention and employee knowledge sharing. Her articles have appeared in leading outlets such as the Academy of Management Journal, the Journal of Management, Gender in Management: An International Journal, the Journal of Career Assessment, the Journal of Business and Psychology, and Cross Cultural Management: An International Journal.
