Aldo Madariaga Espinoza (pictured) is an assistant professor in the school of political science at la Universidad Diego Portales. He has a PhD in economics and political science from the University of Cologne and the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Societies. He is a published researcher with interests in the relationship between democracy and capitalism, the process of public policy, and the political economy of development. Juan Bogliaccini is a professor in the department of social sciences at la Universidad Católica del Uruguay. He received his PhD in political science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his master's degree in education policy from la Universidad Alberto Hurtado. He has research interests in comparative politics and research methods in the social sciences.
